Big Changes at Radio Club Asia
September 19th, 2008Whispers for a good few weeks in the media scene about London based Club Asia are now coming to light. An overhaul of presenters and schedules.
Currently, prime time presenters Missy D (breakfast), San- j- Sanj (midday), Shak (drive time) are all to be juggled around.
Missy D is moving to the midday show, whilst Shak will present the breakfast show. There are uncertanties about San-j-Sanj, rumours are that he will present the drive time show or be leaving to join rival station Sunrise.
Club Asia have been dogged for many years with a presenter’s exodus; Veena V, Kejal, Jas The Man, Bally, Ray Khan to name a few have departed company for rival stations.
Club Asia was a fresh change for tired ears that endured many years of listening to the pioneering but complacent Sunrise Radio, news is that management have lost direction and are ruthless to their staff.
Another whisper on street level is that Club Asia favours Muslims even though they tag themselves as a Bollywood music station, the output of music is very much Pakistani music led, this extends the rumour as there are only 2 non-Muslim presenters (missy d & san-j-sanj), the rest being Schezad, Shak, Mr Kay, Middleman, Rukshana and newcomer Zyleen. (For the record: the directors of Club Asia are Muslim), no wonder the station is now dubbed as Club Islam.
Will be interesting to see how this reshuffle results.

I do not feel that Club Asia is favouring Muslims as they are always celebrating other religions and their festivals. Like Diwali, Vaasaki, Xmas etc. They are more culturely diverse than Sunrise Radio. Its like saying that management at that other radio station favours Hindus and Sikhs over Muslims.
