A Prescription For Peace is now available on Amazon.com
June 21st, 2008Michael Douglas Carlin announced that his highly anticipated book, “A Prescription For Peace” is now available at the Amazon website. Mr. Carlin announced the content of the book to a “sold out” audience at the Century Plaza Hotel in Century City. The event was the annual “Service Above Self” awards banquet that honored Sherry Lansing.
“Our work will not be done until every man, woman and child alive has three square meals a day, a roof over their heads, access to quality healthcare, personal safety, an education, and a job.” - Michael Douglas Carlin A clip of Mr. Carlin’s speech is available at YouTube by typing the book title, “A Prescription For Peace.”
One chapter in the book contains Marlon Brando’s vision of how he wanted to feed the world with highly nutritious food grown on land that is currently not being used for agriculture. Mr. Brando was a life long activist that had an enormous impact on many of the social issues that have faced this country. Mr. Brando intended to announce his plan on the Larry King show. You can watch this video on YouTube. The announcement was not made and up until now this information has remained unreleased.
When implemented the visions contained in the book will bring about an unprecedented era of peace and prosperity. The timing of the release couldn’t be better with the election cycle under way. This book is likely to shape many of the political discussions that will no doubt ensue.
There are reminders that the world is in trouble - floods, tornados, cyclones, earthquakes, droughts, famine, education in crisis, violence in the inner cities, health care in crisis, climate change, bees dying, debt at alarming levels, disease, rising energy costs, rising food costs and the list goes on and on.
The solution lies in all of humankind becoming focused on the solution and all of us doing our part to solve the collective problems that we face. The tipping point is near - that point beyond which we will never be able to return to a stable earth. The time is now. This book is not meant to be an end to the discussion but only the beginning. I implore you to read the book and then to pass it on to as many people as you can so that humanity can unite to turn the tide that races against us. A few people cannot affect the global change necessary to save the planet. It will take the collective effort of all six billion people to bring about the necessary change. This will mean an unprecedented level of cooperation between Government, Businesses, all Foundations, Non-profit entities, and individuals.
“A Prescription For Peace” reinterprets the words of Thomas Jefferson where he declared that humankind has the unalienable right endowed by our Creator to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. “For how could we ever pursue happiness or enjoy liberty without our basic needs being met and not just for Americans but for all of humanity.” – Michael Douglas Carlin
