Ruggable takes a thousand-year-old household item – the rug – and gives it a new twist. Using the soon-to-be-patented, two-piece system of rug backing and detachable rug top (or cover), machine washable area rugs were born.
Covers and pads can be purchased together; however, once the desired quantities and sizes of pads have been acquired, addition covers can be purchased separately. The seasonal covers removed, washed and stored for next year, are replaceable with new seasonal covers that can then be applied.
Old style washable kitchen rugs, but prone to their rubber backing falling apart, can be swapped with Ruggable washable kitchen rugs. Washable throw rugs that formerly became dangerously slippery after repeated washing, with the new two-piece system now are safe no matter how many times their covers are washed.
According to their website, their largest size cover, a five-foot-by-eight-foot area rug, will fit into any home’s washing machine, including stacking units. Covers receiving up to 24 washes have done so without noticeable color change or wear. The site promises to update with new stylish covers for seasonal décor changes.
As much fun as changing the look of a room by periodically changing the look of area rugs and throw rugs is, the original purpose of Ruggable was to easily and affordably be able to keep rugs clean. With Ruggable, even pet rugs can stay clean.
Jeneva Bell and Sarah Butterbaugh, the brains behind Ruggable, are former co-workers who have remained friends throughout the years. Wildly enthusiastic about their creation, they are actively involved in the creation of new and exciting covers. The duos patent pending Ruggable is well on its way to making carpet cleaners obsolete.
