November 26th, 2009

As the green shoots of recovery begin to show, CRM comes into its own as businesses head towards strong economic recovery and DMC demonstrate how it can be successfully employed.

Mike Ramsay, managing director of DMC Software said, “CRM for many businesses during the recession has been the difference between success and failure. At DMC we have a strong focus on customer service and without our CRM solution the high level of customer service we provide would be drastically reduced. CRM is what has given our business the strength to grow during the recession, defying the economic trend, because we had the tools in place to acquire and retain clients.

New breakthrough in technology means that you can sleep away those wrinkles, fine lines and crow’s feet

July 7th, 2009

Like a lot of women around the world, and now men too, we are more aware of our aging skin condition, and for some of us as we become older the desire for those youthful vibrant looks increases.

For years women of the world have been using creams, lotions, potions and serums to reduce the signs of aging, not to mention the do it yourself Botox kits you can now buy over the counter.

Now there’s a “new product on the market.” It’s not a cream, potion, lotion or serum, you won’t even have to stick needles in your face to achieve that allusive youthful look.

So what is it I hear you ask? It’s a pillowcase! You heard me, “a pillowcase”, this one’s different though. It’s been invented by a man by the name of Jeffrey S Gabbay.

Jeffrey S Gabbay studied textile engineering and has a background in finance from the New York University. He has thirty years experience in high tech-fibres and textiles, a background which afforded this unique multi-faceted approach needed to develop this technology.

With a team of textile, mechanical engineers he has engineered, designed, built the pilot system and is now mass producing this and other cosmetic and deodorising products and selling them across Central and North America.
“Wake up with younger vibrant looking skin…”
So how does it work? The cosmetic pillow case provides a gentle, non-invasive, and natural solution for dramatic restoration of the skin’s youthful look and glowing appearance.

While you sleep, copper ions woven into the fabric are activated by the moisture released from your body, beautifying the skin’s appearance, making it look smoother, more radiant and younger, while nourishing stressed, aging skin.

It is dermatologist tested and clinically proven to smooth and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, crow’s feet and other skin imperfections while you sleep.

“Dramatic restoration of the skin’s youthful look and glowing appearance…”

In a recent Clinical Trial, Fifty-seven individuals, (55 women and two men), completed a 4 week, double blind, parallel, randomised clinical study.

The participants used either copper-oxide containing pillowcases or pillowcases not containing copper-oxide (the “placebo control pillow cases”). Photographs were taken by a professional photographer of each participant at three times: The beginning (baseline) of the Trial, and at 2 and 4 weeks after the commencement of the Trial.

The test results show there was a statistically significant reduction of the appearance of facial wrinkles and crows feet/fine lines and statistically significant improvement in the texture and general (or overall) appearance of facial skin when consistently sleeping for 4 weeks on 0.4% (weight/weight) copper-oxide containing pillowcases versus the placebo control pillowcases.

In most trial participants, this statistically significant effect was already noticeable within 2 weeks of using the copper-oxide containing pillowcases.

Not only does this company product these Copper infused satin pillowcases, but they also produce a range of other anti-aging, youth enhancing products like the:

Copper infused Eye Masks that remove lines and wrinkles Effortlessly!

Sleep soundly as your skin’s beauty revives itself with the help of a copper-oxide infusion, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and crows feet while you sleep.

And the:

Copper infused Gloves, Having younger beautiful hands has Never been simpler!

These gloves improve the appearance of blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles on your skin. Our skin appearance enhancing gloves will reverse the look of wear and tear that your hands feel after a long day at home, at work, or with the kids. Start your hands’ second chance at a new life with these gloves.

What user of the copper infused products Have said…?

“I was given a pillow case as a present. I must admit I thought it was a load of rubbish, BUT IT’S NOT the products really work.  The first thing I noted was my hair is softer, a few days later I found my skin was softer and after three weeks the laughter lines round my eyes are gone (I refuse to call them wrinkles).  The only problem I have is learning to sleep on both sides, so my face is equal and not looking older on one side…

As an added bonus the arthritis pain in my shoulder has reduced by 90% without having to wear a copper bracelet and turning green.  I now have the eye mask and the socks as well and they do what they say, there will no more stinky feet!!!!!! and it’s all without costly cosmetics and chemicals

All my family and friends will be getting these products for birthdays and Christmas WHAT A WAY TO GO GREEN”… Eve Hayes

“In the last 2 months I have purchased goods.  My first purchase 2 months ago was the Copper Infused pillowcase which I have used regularly.  Since using it I have found that the look and feel of my facial skin has improved, looking more radiant and feeling much softer.  The skin around my eyes has improved and the lines faded…

I also noticed this winter that I didn’t have the usual dry patches on my face which I usually suffer from during the winter months.  I then went on to purchase the Copper lined eye mask which has worked wonders to clear the allergic reactions my eyes have to certain substances and conditions.  Over night my eyes feel cool and fresh…

I have also worn the socks which have helped to reduce pains I suffer in my foot from a previous injury. I would strongly recommend these Copper Infused products to anyone – it’s a fantastic discovery!”… Hazel from CO. Mayo

“What a wonderful surprise when the Copper Infused Pillowcases arrived this morning and to find your lovely gift of the Gloves.  You must be mind readers as I was thinking I might try them next!

My nails are silkier and hands a little softer from wearing the gloves. Changes around the eyes are more subtle but my skin feels and looks better…

Thanks. I’ll continue to use and recommend your products to my friends…” Cecily Kennedy

‘‘Fantastic’’ pillowcase reduce wrinkles

A new bed linen technology that irons out facial wrinkles is a “fantastic discovery”… Silentnight.co.uk

“I can honestly say the copper-infused technology… is truly revolutionary and lives up to its promise of effectively renewing the skin during sleep”… Dr. Yael Halaas, a renowned Board-certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in New York City.

“Can a cushion cover combat crow’s feet?  We put it to the test.

The company claims that it’s all down to the copper oxide embedded in the fibres of the pillowcase.  Apparently, the moisture your skin produces while you sleep activates the copper which stimulates production of collagen.

Codswallop, we hear you say!  We thought so too, but three weeks is all it took to convince us otherwise. By the fourth we’d sworn never to sleep on another pillow again.”

“Talk about beauty sleep…” Vitamindaily.com

All of these proven cutting edge products including the Night Beauty Package, which consists of:

Night Beauty Package:

Two Copper infused Satin Pillowcases, One pair of Copper Infused Gloves and One Copper Infused Eye Mask.

When used consistently are proven to reduce wrinkles fine lines and crows feet. One thing though, the use of fabric softener may decrease the effectiveness of the copper yarn over time, so it’s recommended that you wash without fabric conditioner.

Green homes that turn rubbish into energy

June 27th, 2009
100 eco flats to be built in Luton by the end of 2010 as part of Milieu Architects’ environmentally sustainable project

Luton, UK (26th June 2009) – The apartments will use solar collectors and wind turbines, and would turn waste materials into energy to keep heating bills down to around £100 per year.  It is all part of Milieu Architects’ ambitious plans for ‘Luton’s first environmentally responsible development’.

Peter Lunter, The Project Architect, said:

“The project has been designed to achieve nearly all Zero Energy Development standards, and hence the block has minimum space heating requirements.  The scheme employs a wide range of sustainable features that contribute to its code 5 for Sustainable Homes rating where the grade 6 is the zero carbon level.  However, the project has a pre designed upgrade path to full Zero Energy status.”

The plan involves developing the derelict, recently crime-ridden site on the northern side of Collingdon Street in Luton, and could spark an ‘urban renaissance’, according to businessman Jan Telensky whose company has proposed building the apartments.

The scheme, formally known as ‘Low Energy Apartments (LEA) project’, is already receiving the support and co-operation of Luton Borough Council as it has been submitted to approach the planning stages, and Milieu Architects, which is made up of former University of Luton students, is confident that it will become a reality by the end of 2010.

The idea of the innovative project is that it will provide environmentally sound housing and social facilities at an affordable cost and make a considerable contribution towards environmental sustainability, while enhancing the sense of community by regenerating the site into an attractive residential area.

The building would be topped with visually attractive green roofs whose structural function is designed to protect the waterproofing layer from extreme temperature and abrasion, produce oxygen and reduce carbon dioxide production.

Other key sustainable features include construction from thermal materials that store heat during warm months and release it during the colder months.

###

Core facts – Key sustainable features

  • The building is constructed from thermally massive materials that store heat during warm months and release it during the colder months. Further enhancement is achieved through a high performance thermal insulation, good weather-tightness and integration of winter gardens (sun rooms).
  • Combined heat and power plant that uses waste wood that would otherwise go to landfill.
  • Wind turbines – harvesting the wind to power low energy electrical appliances and low energy lighting.
  • Roof is covered in water-powered solar collectors that are assisting with space and water heating.
  • Green Roofs – visually attractive green roofs protect the waterproofing layer from extreme temperatures and abrasion. It provides natural habitat and reduces CO2 and produces oxygen.
  • South façade features sun rooms that are heated by the sun.

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA — The NextGen Home Experience® is the culmination of the next generation of ideas, concepts and building products for the North American Home. As the global leader of home control and automation, Crestron was chosen as the premier technology provider for the 5,200 square foot show home. Crestron provides the ultimate modern lifestyle of comfort and convenience, placing home entertainment and technology at your fingertips. Select and control audio and video components, dim lights and adjust thermostats in every room in the house from 11 custom touchpanels, 45 Cameo™ keypads and two handheld remotes.

Crestron delivers the optimal home theater experience, including a 7.1 surround sound processor, video processor and distribution system, lighting and climate control from a TPS-6X Wireless Touchpanel. Two additional TPS-6X touchpanels enable complete control from the master bedroom and VIP suite. Even the bathrooms in the master bed room and VIP suite feature Crestron control via WPR-48 waterproof remotes, so you can select entertainment and adjust lights and temperature while soaking in the bath. Crestron CEN-IDOC docking stations for the iPod® also installed in the master bedroom, VIP suite and family room seamlessly integrate the popular MP3 player as a whole house audio source, which may be accessed from touchpanels in any room.

In the kitchen a TPMC-8X WiFi Touchpanel with a Windows XP Embedded operating system offers home control, Web browsing, email messaging and streaming media from one sleek mobile device. Wall mount touchpanels are conveniently located in the master bathroom, dining room and foyer.

MT-100C MiniTouch Handheld Wireless Touchpanels provide control in bedrooms 2, 3, 4 and the library. In total the home has 10 independent zones of climate control, 10 zones of distributed video with 16 audio zones, and 8 lighting zones consisting of 188 loads. Crestron also integrates the home security system, including CCTV cameras, which may be accessed, controlled and monitored from touchpanels throughout the home. The biometric entry scanners manage access to the home by identifying individuals and their personal security levels as they enter. The same finger swipe that opens the door is also recognized by the control system, displaying the family member’s name on touchpanel displays and automatically initiating personalized settings for lights, temperature and entertainment. An email is automatically sent to the parents when the children return home from school. Crestron Eagles Program Donates Home Theater

December 2nd, 2008

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Crestron hosted the first Eagles Program dedication ceremony at Walter Reed Army Medical Hospital today, unveiling the new home theater donated to provide comfort and entertainment for America’s heroes recovering from injuries sustained during combat overseas. The Crestron Eagles Program was conceived by Crestron President George Feldstein to honor the service and sacrifice of our wounded warriors returning home from battle.

“This theater system represents the largest single donation any military hospital has ever received,” explained Pete Baca Jr., USMC Ret., CTS. “They may get a thousand or even five thousand dollars, but they were amazed when I told them what we wanted to do.”

The home theater means so much more than mere entertainment to these men and women who are undergoing long-term physical and occupational therapy. “We treat the person rather than the injury,” said Colonel Terrence McKenrick, Commandant of Walter Reed. “These Warriors in Transition receive physical rehabilitation, occupational therapy and professional education so they are fully prepared to re-enter society.” The emotional aspect of recovery cannot be underestimated. Colonel McKenerick explains that socialization is vital for emotional health and a complete recovery.

“Before the theater was installed, soldiers would stay in their rooms all day with the doors closed – shut off and withdrawn from life,” recalls Col. McKenrick. “This gets them out of seclusion and reconnected with the outside world.”

The ribbon cutting was a simple celebration of valor, commitment and hope. The community room was transformed into a state-of-the-art digital home theater, adorned with banners, flowers and balloons to mark the special occasion. The more than forty “warriors in transition,” including five brave soldiers who had recently received their Purple Hearts and Bronze Stars, were overwhelmed by the technology and the generosity exhibited by Crestron and its partners.

Crestron donated an Adagio® home theater system, CEN-IDOC interface for iPod®, TPMC-8X Isys i/O™ WiFi touchpanel and a 52-inch HD plasma. Chris Wildfoerster, Director of Business Development at Crestron, called upon partner companies to contribute to complete the system. “It took just one phone call to each partner,” said Wildfoerster. “Once I explained what we were doing, everyone wanted to help.” LG Electronics, Velodyne, Triad and Marshall Furniture each contributed to this life changing gift. Jose Rodriguez of Dal-Media and Kevin Busza of ICD Systems donated their time and talents for the system installation and programming.

“We really appreciate the support and kindness that Crestron and their partners have shown us,” said Command Sergeant Major Jeffrey Hartless. “This theater makes a huge difference in the lives of our wounded warriors.”

Everyone who participated in and contributed toward the Crestron Eagle Program donation at Walter Reed was inspired by the troops and humbled by the gratitude they expressed. After Vin Bruno, Director of Marketing at Crestron, presented the Eagles plaque to Colonel McKenrick, Crestron was proud to receive a certificate of appreciation from the Warrior Transition Brigade which read:

“For exceptional support and dedication to our wounded, injured and ill warriors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Your generosity and caring attitude makes a positive impact on many Warrior’s lives. Thank you for your outstanding support!”

The next hospital scheduled to receive a home theater center is The Wounded Warriors Battalion East at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, North Carolina. “I believe that every company in the private sector should do whatever they can to support and honor the men and women who have selflessly sacrificed so much to defend our country,” said Mr. Feldstein.

Global MainFrame launches Dynamic Provisioning Engine

August 26th, 2008

David Young, VP Infrastructure Services of leading SaaS solutions provider Global MainFrame, announced today the company has successfully tested and launched its proprietary Dynamic Provisioning Engine, which now forms the robust back-end of the Energy Resource Manager platform. “We are continuing to set the pace for the Oil and Gas sector,” Young says. “DPE is a fully integrated and secured service, which complements our Microsoft partnership, to enable the efficient delivery of network resources to activate any requested software.”

The Dynamic Provisioning Engine seamlessly performs the work of several engines commercially available today. With intuitive operational and administrative overlays, it deploys new services in the field very quickly. DPE also provides users a requisite policy-based security component and authentication control for selected business management, communication and CRM solutions. Augmenting existing accounting systems, this technology currently allows users to create and modify accounts, add (and delete) multiple users, change user passwords and check user balances.

“It serves as a centralized gateway, and as a result of the automated provisioning processes,” Young continues, “users will realize the activation of any purchased service in a very short amount of time. The system allows us to push content dynamically. At provisioning time, it can log on to any network device and make the necessary changes to activate a service in real-time and allows for the incredibly efficient distribution of our systems, modules and applications online.”

The engine, which utilizes various Microsoft solutions, is extremely flexible and will scale accordingly to accommodate many thousands of new clients and users. “Our development team has done a tremendous job in responding to the needs of our Oil & Gas clients,” Young concludes. “We’ve definitely come along way since cumbersome assembly languages controlled the market. This software paves the way for our exciting new programs coming down the pipe and straight into the hands of users in the field.”

Global Mainframe and MapFusion announce merger; set to co-launch MoveWISE

May 23rd, 2008

Steve Turcotte, CEO and Chairman of Calgary-based software solutions provider Global Mainframe, is proud to announce today the completion of an exciting merger with MapFusion Inc. Under the agreement the companies will begin immediately to share critical knowledge and resources to co-launch and maximize recent respective technology developments and new product releases, such as ERM and MoveWISE.

“It’s taken a few months to get to know each other,” explains Turcotte, “but we’re extremely happy with the result. This provides us many opportunities and we are certainly better positioned to compete effectively and support a broader portfolio of services.”

MoveWISE, a geospatial-enabled reporting solution, was unveiled this past November for relocation professionals at the ERC symposium in Denver. The product augments MapFusion’s current inventory, including CommunityWISE, a popular online application currently used by consumers across North America. “Based on feedback received at the conference,” Turcotte continues, “our teams succeeded over the past few months to refine the product, and this month showcased an advanced version at the NRC show in San Antonio.”

Located in Toronto, over the past year MapFusion’s executives have been working closely with industry leaders and partners, like Royal Lepage Relocation Services (RLRS), Canada’s largest relocator, to evolve the brand line, integrating new and innovative technology with data-driven maps to reduce the clients’ actual cost of relocation, as well as the personal stress involved with moving the employee and family members.

“As a data aggregator this merger is a logical step for us,” concludes Turcotte. “We are aware that MapFusion has been instrumental in developing proprietary and renowned tracking software for the transportation industry and we intend to leverage our complementary competencies and exploit a lucrative opportunity in the Oil and Gas sector right now.”
