TextGuard Announces SMS Compliance Solution for Enterprises Using Mobile Device Communications

August 4th, 2009

New York, NY ( FastPressReleaser ) August 03, 2009 – TextGuard, Inc, announces TextGuard For Blackberry and TextGuard For Windows Mobile, a software application for mobile devices that monitors and archives text conversations within an organization.

Thus, TextGuard enables businesses to monitor and archive all SMS and Pin-To-Pin conversations by employees as required by current regulations.

TextGuard secures, manages and coordinates mobile communication and devices, providing archiving capabilities on a secured server remotely accessible by a Compliance Officer or authorized user.

Today, electronic communication compliance monitoring has become mandatory in financial, banking, healthcare, and other secure sectors.  Regulators such as the SEC (Securities Exchange Commission), FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority), FSA (Financial Services Authority), and laws such as HIPPA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) now require a form of electronic message archiving and monitoring for corporations in these industries.

“With the increase in E-Discovery and E-Communication monitoring and the interpretation of the recent messaging regulations, corporations in the affected sectors must implement secure message monitoring and archiving solutions,” said Todd Cohan, Founder of TextGuard. “TextGuard offers businesses just that – a simple, secure and effective way to keep track of a company’s mobile device activity so that they are compliant with all regulations.”

TextGuard is a comprehensive information security solution available for electronic communication compliance regulated industries. The archiving capability allows all messages to be archived, and enables the authorized user to access and search the messaging archives from anywhere in the world via a secured platform. Search options include keywords, content, sender, and more, and can be customized for each corporation’s needs.

With TextGuard, the compliance administrators within a company can monitor employee communications, which prevents loss of corporate data when a mobile device is lost or stolen, or an employee is terminated. The software allows enterprises to monitor and log the SMS and Pin-To-Pin communications in and out of a corporation’s mobile device fleet.

TextGuard has two components: a server component and a client component. The client component is installed on the individual mobile device, whereas the server program is either a hosted solution (SAAS), or can be installed within corporate premises. The software applies an overall enterprise-wide information security regimen to all the smartphones in the organization, as well as applies control to the smartphone device itself.  TextGuard provides encryption service for the logs being transmitted from the device to the secured TextGuard server. Messages use 128bit encryption from the device to the TextGuard Web application.

TextGuard currently supports RIM Blackberry and Windows Mobile, and release the 3.2 in August will include both the iPhone and Symbian platforms.

The Mobile Compliance Solution is designed to work with any mobile carrier and soon all major mobile device manufacturers. Pricing is on a tiered model, dependent on the number of devices being monitored.  To learn more, please visit www.textguard.com
