Vehicle disposal and sales company aims to save money for small fleets

A new service has been launched that offers a complete vehicle re-marketing and disposal package for fleet managers of small and medium-sized businesses.

Introduced by MSL Vehicle Solutions, the service is aimed at daily rental companies, driving schools and corporate fleet managers.

Led by Commercial Director Steve Turner and Rob Hindley, a former Regional Remarketing Manager at Enterprise Rent-a-Car, MSL aims to improve the cash flow position for fleets by quickly disposing of vehicles and handling the entire sales process and transfer of proceeds with maximum return.

Mr Turner said: “This is a seamless, one contact re-marketing service for fleet managers – providing them with access to our expertise and network of buyers.

He added: “We recognised that, for many businesses, vehicle disposal is not a core part of their operation and often do not have the resources in-house to give it their full attention and manage the process to benefit the business.”

When it comes to selling fleet vehicles, Mr Turner believes that companies with no re-marketing strategy tend to take the first price at auction in order to dispose as quickly as possible. Then they have to wait for payment to be passed through the system. “Our service makes good business sense and takes this hassle away for fleet managers,” he says.

What MSL offers is a better cash position for business in that they do not have to take the vehicle out of service, move it to an auction house, wait for a sale and then wait again for payment.

Mr Turner: “In essence, we can get an accepted bid price, invoice the buyer and have the money in the client’s bank in a matter of days. This improves cash flow and provides busy companies with a ‘virtual’ vehicle remarketing services.”

MSL Vehicle Solutions takes a set fee of £100 for each vehicle disposed. This is deducted from the bid price.

Another benefit of the service is the ability to dispose of the fleet vehicle at a pre-determined date, agreed with the client.

Mr Turner added: “We advise on the best time to ‘de-fleet’ to take advantage of demand for specific makes and models. So, we are not just providing a remarketing outlet, but advising on which models and makes are doing well in the market and of course, which ones are not. It’s more than a selling and disposal service – it’s a complete outsourced solution.”
