Well Organised, time-management expert says businesses need higher efficiency to stay ahead during the recession

April 22nd, 2009

Well Organised, a professional organisation and time-management company, says companies need to focus on boosting productivity at a time where any inefficiency during the recession could be highly costly.

Isi Dixon, founder of time-management company, Well Organised, says companies need to focus on boosting productivity in this recession and yet the average person in the UK wastes 33% of the working year – that is 87 days of the 235 days worked1.

Well Organised (http://www.wellorganised.org/)  offers guidance to businesses on how to make better use of their time, and resources, through improving time management skills in the workplace or offering practical organisation solutions that can easily be implemented throughout an organisation.

With business advisor BDO Stoy Hayward announcing early in 2009 predictions that more than 320,000 jobs may be lost over the coming months2 now, more than ever, companies will need to have much more organised and efficient workforces.  Isi Dixon believes that, “the benefits of implementing learnt time management techniques (http://wellorganised.blogspot.com/search/label/time%20management/), and improving office environments that employees are proud of increases productivity and thus the company becomes more competitive.”

Isi, who is a member of the Association of Professional Declutterers and Organisers UK, offers a personalised, pragmatic and innovative consultancy service to small businesses – successfully filling a gap in the market. With the UK having the longest working week in Europe – an average of 43.6 hours compared to the EU average of 40.43, Well Organised business solutions respond to the hectic, fast-paced and competitive society we live in.

Isi said; ‘Businesses are unaware of the simple changes they can implement in the day to day running of the business by improving office filing systems, or learning new time management techniques, which leads to less waste and more effective resource management.’

In fact, Robbie Weir, programme manager for Envirowise, the resource efficiency company, has found that more efficient time management and organisation skills (http://wellorganised.blogspot.com/search/label/organisation/) will not only save those pennies but ‘can also lead to an increase in turnover of up to 4%.’4

With statistics like these, time management and organisation guidance is crucial for riding the current storm. The way to achieve this is through engaging with employees; ‘It is essential to find solutions that motivate employees, and create a fresh outlook on the business and working day – particularly during times of economic uncertainty, when negativity can ebb away at workers’ enthusiasm,” explains Isi.

Isi deems the key to clients realising their objectives is by tailoring solutions to her clients needs – through research, an initial free hour consultation and outlining clear achievable targets. Her personalised business ethos means that she builds a close rapport with clients from the beginning, also offering a follow-up consultation to offer encouragement and find out how clients progress.
